Lucid is setting new standards for its advanced luxury electric vehicles (EVs), today announced the official opening of its newest Studio location at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA.

With Lucid Motors opening a studio in Germany, and will likely start taking reservation in 2022 for the European market, it makes sense to get a production line in closer to that region.

Lucid Motors is not a company that sits around and waits for things to happen. The EV maker has been doing some heavy lifting of its own.

In previous interviews, Peter Rawlinson, the CEO and CTO of Lucid Motors stated that crash testing would only be tested on production models. In the investor call yesterday, Peter Rawlinson said, “We are in the late stages of the crash testing program, and the car is in the midst of EPA range testing.”

Despite this critical news not being in the investor call, Lucid Motors has started construction on their second phase, which will ultimately see an expansion of 2,400,000 square feet, including mechanical/industrial building space and approximately 3,000 parking spaces on about 152.36 acres.

What Peter Rawlinson and Lucid Motors need to do next is display their technology.
