YES, TESLA IS BUILDING A HUMANOID ROBOT

esla CEO Elon Musk showed why Tesla is more than just a car company. AI Day presented the real-world use case of AI to sum it up. But towards the end, Musk announced something that many weren't anticipating....the Tesla Bot, a human-like robot using Artificial Intelligence to perform human-like tasks.

According to Elon Musk, the Tesla Bot will be used for dangerous, repetitive, and tedious tasks. The Tesla bot will be 5'8" and will be able to carry 45 LBS and deadlift 150 LBS. Oh, and did we mention that it will be friendly?

Musk described Tesla as already being the biggest robotic company and the number one leading AI company in the world, considering the capabilities of its vehicles to see and understand the world around them and act on that information. The CEO believes that it makes sense for Tesla to use their significant advancements in computer vision. But, instead of deploying a robot on four wheels, the company will do it in a humanoid robot.

Musk went on to say that It is going to share a lot of the technology found in Tesla vehicles today, including the FSD computer which will receive data from a very similar suite of sensors. But the CEO almost said that they are making the robot because they already making almost all of the technology to create and if “Tesla doesn’t do it, someone else will” and they want to do it safely. The long-term vision is to replace most labor and Musk reiterated his support for universal income, which would be required if the Tesla Bot has the impact that Musk is expecting.
